I went from my GT bumper to an ABC Cobra, ya know? I just bought a new CD, Shinedown, & was out listening to it. I had my car running. It was a rainy day so the clouds made it kinda dark. I had my corners on. I got out to see them with my fogs lit up. I noticed my LH fog was 1/2 in/out. I went right to my mechanics to get him to fix it. Noticed a huge prob with both of them. The outer glass/plastic has melted & warped itself!! He said the bulbs were messed up or something. Can't really remember that part. I think he said something about the bulbs were too close, maybe. I'll have to buy them also, I guess. Has anyone heard of this happening before? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Cobra fof lights!!

The bulbs were?? What type of Cobra Fog lights did you get? Where did you get them? The plastic housing could be poorly made causing them to melt.

Bought them from BOI. Uh, do you mean the bulbs? I think they are like 4500 ones I found on eBay? Told ya I can't remember what he said. I will go ask him him tomorrow & write down what he says. Even though I sealed them up, I thought good, I saw water was still getting inside them after I washed the car. I was going to re-buy, anyhow. This time I will buy from Art. Exact same parts, though.

if you were getting water in the lights it probably wasn't the craftsmenship from the housing themselves. The bulb normally has a rubber O ring that helps seal it to the housing to prevent water from getting in there in normal wet conditions. I would just dry out your housing and then make sure that the O ring is there. You should be fine take some pics and post them.

I was using a 893 bulb. I think it was 1 I found on eBay. I am fixing to buy new lights. I think for these I will just use the cheapo Super White bulbs you like buy @ Wal-Mart. I run them all the time, so no need it spending too much on them.
