The Car is phantom black pearl (in process of painting.) The motor is out and I want to make the factory intake look better!

I would say powder coat it like he said OR the color of ther car.

Make sure its powder coated, not painted.

Alright, can we for once and for all confirm or deny that the "Cobra" plaque on the top can/can not be removed?

I have a Cobra intake, but it's been painted, and maybe filled so I can't see the connection, but as far as I can see there is no way you could take just the plaque off.

I don't see anyway to get the plaque off. Maybe some of the knockoffs come off.

definitely have to go with polished, it'd look sick in a black car.
look at the polishing thread in the tech section by thorco3, it shows a good idea of what the cobra intake looks like polished. I'm currently polishing mine too!

The 94/95 cobra intakes do not have a plaque it is apart of the casting. Unless you grind it off it's going no where. Now if you have the SVO aftermarket version THEN you can glue on a cobra plaque. I personally prefer the SVO cursive engraving it has.
