I am trading my recaro racing seats for 01 cobra seats which are the same as termy seats.. I have read certain places about install the cobra seats because the wiring is different.. But i forget where i saw it, so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

The 01 seats as far as I know are not the same as termy's, cause I think I have 01's out of a Cobra. They are the same as a GT. But anyway, the wiring is easy. cut the ends off, solder all of the wires that need positive charge together, then buy a two prong plug male/female set and solder those on, plug together and you have it done. I'll unbolt my seat and snap a picture of the finished job if you'd like.

Nevermind, you were right about the seats. Nevertheless, the steps above would work for just about anything. ;)

Sure thing, sorry about the mix up. I'll have the pics up as soon as I can. It only took me 15 minutes or so. 30 if you include going to the auto parts store and getting the attachments. So it's pretty straight forward. :santa_afro:

the 01 and 03 Cobra seats are not exactly the same but they are pretty similar.

Yea they are very similar, but side by side you can tell the difference.. I think they are offrered in diff colors and i think the lumbars and sides are different.

yea the 01 Cobra has a seat that looks like Bullit/Mach seats but have the Alcantara inserts.

They are similar to the Termi's but are different.

the Termy seats insert goes straight off the end of the seat while the 01 Cobra insert rounds off before going under the seat. If that didn't make sense here are examples.

I took pictures today, but my computer had some problems uploading. I'll try to work it out tomorrow for you.

Finally got the pics to upload. Sorry for the delay.

This is the seat itself. I bought the connectors at a local hardware store, they should have them anywhere. Cut off the old tip, put all of the turquoise wires together, and soldered them to the red wire of the "pigtail" off the new connector. I used heat shrink tubing for both. A stray wire pierced the negative one so I wrapped it with electric tape. Other than that very straight forward.

This is the one coming from the floor. Make sure that your positives on both end are the same color, and you're in business.

Good luck on the swap

here you go this is for the 03 cobra seats tho
may still work for 01,im not sure

have seen a few people lately asking how to do this. This is absolutely as easy as can be, even for the novice. Extra care MUST be taken when removing the old and putting in the new seats so as not to scratch/gouge the console and door sills, and the 04s are noticeably heavier than the SN95s. The passenger side is a straight swap. The rears are self explanatory, except for the fact that I had to swap out seat back frames to get the seat frame to screw in and latch without modification. There is only one bolt and a dowel holding each seat back to the frame. And make sure you dont break the plastic retainers when removing the bottom of the rear seats, these were the hardest part of the entire deal. Follow these instructions and EVERY FUCTION WILL WORK!!!

ON THE DRIVER SEAT -
1. Remove the factory connector from the '03/04 cobra seats.
2. Connect both GREEN wires together.
3. Connect a crimp connector to the BLACK wire.
4. Connect a crimp wire to the BLUE wire.

IN THE CAR -
1. Remove the factory connector from the seat power harness.
2. Connect a crimp connector to the BLUE wire (+12 volts).
3. Locate the BLACK wire (GROUND), but DON'T Crimp YET!
4. Remove the factory seatbelt attachment from the car floor.
5. Disassemble the seatbelt and cut the 2 wires that connect under the console.
6. Check with a digital meter for continuity. One wire will have continuity to GROUND. Connect this to the BLACK wire and crimp.
7. The other wire from the seatbelt will need a crimp connector.

FINAL INSTALL -
1. Connect the 2 Black GROUND wires from the car to the BLACK wire on the seat.
2. Connect the BLUE wire from the car to the GREEN wires on the seat.
3. Connect the seatbelt BLACK wire to the BLUE wire from the seat.
4. Finish bolting in the seat.
