I pulled these codes today.

563

High Speed Electro-Drive
Fan (HEDF) ? circuit failure (actron code description)

and 181.

Would 563 point to a ccrm issue?

Well.. I didnt do that yet but.. I got stranded a few days back with what seemed like a fuel pump issue. I haven't replaced my pump yet but i did swap out the ccrm today( After I read the code, but before i looked up what the code was). Drove around for about 10 miles and didn't get anymore codes.

I'll see what pops up in the next few days if anything.

If i pull that code again, i will do that.

Thanks

when you pulled the codes did you hear both speeds of the fan come on. it'll do this right at the begining of the test.

*UPDATE*

Ok i had replaced my ccrm and everything was fine for a few day then I got the codes again.

When i pulled the codes i only noticed 1 fan speed. How do i check the motor for both speeds?

remove the fan connector. make 2 jumper wires. 1 is for the black wire, connect that to ground. the other jumper you'll connect to the pos side of the batt. and connect other end to one of the other plugs on the fan. i'lltry to send you a diagram tomorrow while i'm at work.

If you buy a cheap OBDI code scanner for $30, it will cycle both fan speeds during test, and give you all of the codes.

i've been pulling the codes with a little actron code reader. I just read them again and i only had 1 fan speed. I noticed a click, then another click when the fan turned on. I thought i had read that using the jumper will only start the fan in low speed and that grounding a specific wire in the ccrm loom will trigger the highspeed setting. Does that sound right?
