okay guys, gonna start a build thread on this.

I FUCKING HATE my 4r70w. I HATE AUTOMATIC MUSTANGS. There I said it. I believe an auto takes the fun out of driving these cars. Sure they may be quicker off the line and built up to be pretty serious, but im not a fan.

I bought my Bright tangerine GT with the auto. Back then i didnt really care. Since the rear main seal is leaking and i always have a puddle under my car, Rather than spending time swapping the auto out to replace seals, im gonna just to the man pedal swap :BangHead:

Anyways, im going with a t45 out of a low mile cobra. YESSS I know t45's are not the best, but i have no plans on making insane power and i dont drive like a maniac. I like spirited driving. My 01 has a 3650 and i love it, but a t45 will be fun.

So today Im picking up my swap. I didnt get it at first because It came with an 8 bolt flywheel, and i thought oh shit I cant use this, but soon realized WTF did I do im buying a new clutch kit and a new billet 6 bolt flywheel! So im going back tonight to get everything.

Also im getting a firewall cable adjustor, a new billet quadrant, etc etc. 10th anniversay shift knob, boot, which will be the finishing touches on my long awaited dream!

ill keep this thread updated! Ill post pics tonight!!!! :eek:ccasion14:

Wow, no responses :'(

anyways heres my T45 and driveshaft. I have the harness which really helps, as well as the pedal assembly, cable, all hardware, etc etc.

Little advice. Cut the ears for the wiring harness on top of the trans behind the bellhousing. Those ears make stabbing the trans way more difficult than it should be.

do explain more please lol

The transmission will be a pain to wiggle into the trans tunnel with those ears. You have to twist the transmission like crazy to do it or cut the ears off so it just slides right in.

Another thing: my swap kit parts list included a manual trans computer.

It sounds like your driving style is much like mine and I can tell you first hand --> You're going to love the change!

Glad this is correctly identified as a man-pedal swap, because automatics are gayer than AIDS.

Either way you go about the swap you're going to need a retune. Personally, to avoid disabling PATS, keep the automatic computer. Any intelligent tuning specialist can teach the automatic computer to act like a manual.

If you decide to change the computer, you'll need a tune disabling PATS or the car will cut the ignition when you turn the key.

If you already have the pedal assembly for stick and a free afternoon I'd get to work on throwing it into the car. It's a major PITA and if you get it out of the way, that's one less thing that's gotta be put in with the transmission.

Since you have the manual wiring harness at least you won't have to splice. it SHOULD all be plug and play. Other than that there's really nothing to it, everything is straightforward once the auto comes out.

Agreed ^.

Put the pedal assembly in first. Thats half the battle.

But enjoy the swap! Its fun as hell. :eek:ccasion14:

Interesting, I didn't get a tune and I didn't have any problems. Are the 94-95s different?

my pats has been disabled already, so im gonna just have the car retuned. Hopfully this goes pretty easy since I have the harness... no splicing or cutting required hahaha

yeah i had to splice my wiring harness in the old v6. it certainly taught me wiring that's for sure. I ended up using it to my advantage though on the road course. Wired up my clutch pedal to the brake lights, really screwed with people on the track LOL.
