sup everybody, im new to this forum but i found this forum a few months ago and noticed there were more sn95 5.0s on this forum than others so you guys can relate. Now i have a 95 gt and of course im tryin to mod it. So far i got 4:10 gears, aluminum driveshaft, o/r h-pipe, original 40 series flowmaster, superchip, underdrive pullies, 70mm throttle body, aftermarket 75mm maf sensor lowering springs and performance shocks and struts. Not sure what it runs but i'll let u know in april. This year is for the big stuff. Typhoon intake is coming first, then the e303 cam, then the afr (185) heads. First i want to know if any work have to be done to the pistons when i use those heads or do i have to settle with the 165's. Second, since combination is key, will this combo put me in the 12's.

Hey can I ask you a question, how is that superchip did you notice a nice gain from that? I am new also and was curious. :bunny3:

um, its pretty good, i have the 4-bank chip with the 4 different tunes and one of my tunes is stock ecu and i noticed a pretty nice difference between the stock tune and my peak performance tune. It pulls a lot harder.

For what you are planning on putting on there for the other parts...the 165s will be a better head for you. You should be good as far as Piston to valve clearance goes but its best to check during the install for your own personal knowledge. is you car a 5 speed or no? Either way, you should be able to click off a 12 with some tires.

its a five speed and im gettin some drag radials before april. do the afr 165 heads flow like the trickflow twisted wedges

For what your CURRENT plan mods are, the 165s are going to be better...HOWEVER, the Twisted Wedge heads have ALOT of room to grow into (i.e. benefit better from porting further down the road should you decide to go bigger). The 185s are going to be too big for that motor unless you're going to turn some serious RPM. So if you plan on being happy for awhile, the 165s are perfect for what you want. You plan on going huge down the road and only wanna spend the money once...at least for the heads, go TW.

My personal opinion is wait to do the heads and cam at the same time, otherwise its a lot of extra work for not much in return. Don't look down on the 165s, they are great heads and 9/10 times will out perform the TFTW out of the box.

With drag radials and a 5 speed....you should be able to casually stroll to a 12 almost. I ran 12.7s on a 295 35-18 Pirelli "winter performance" tire a few years ago with a 1.9 60 ft. It should be a walk in the park is the tune is there.

oh yea of course, im putting the intake on first and then ima buy the cam and just wait till i get the heads to put cam in. I just wanted a resonable priced combo to get into the 12's. I think the trickflow H/C/I kit is like $3000 bucks but for the combo i wanna do, its more like $2500.

I mean dyno tune...becareful with mail order "custom" tunes. When you start getting aggressive with the mods, that chip may be hazardous to the motor's health

oh when i meant custom chip tune, i mean the guy sells them and comes to your house and tunes it for you. He has the software to tune the chip on his laptop. When i first got it, he told me to give him a call when i get heads cam and intake or a supercharger. so thats covered
