Hi Guys, new member first post. I have a 94GT and I’m Building myself a top end. I have Y303 heads with upgraded BHive springs and a GT40 upper and lower. The intakes and heads have been professionally ported. Also have 70mm throttle body and mass air, Edelbrock elbow and 24lb injectors. I have the Comp Cams XE270HR and the 93 factory Cobra 1.7rr, just wondering if anyone has a similar set, how they find this cam in the city at low speeds. I drive my car everyday from April to November but it’s all short city driving, I am also considering to just keep the stock cam and use the 1.7rr. I called Comp Cams and they said it will be fine but first hand experience is always better. Any input will help. Thanks everyone.

You’ll need a tune for sure.

5spd at low rpms in first will get a tad jumpy but other than than shouldn’t be bad.

Evil be the one to know!

Now if it were the same cam in a modular 5.4l.....you could pull a boat and be REAL smooth...lol.

Thanks 96blak54, I've also got upgraded cobra brakes front and rear, complete Eibach suspension kit, tubular rear arms, Steeda X2 ball joints and bump steer kit, 18" SVE wheels, and a C&L CAI. Just want to say to all the young guys on this forum, always upgrade your brakes first and make your cars handle better, before adding horsepower, horsepower is no fun if you cant get it to stick to the ground or handle around corners, Safe driving.

I’ll get them up as soon as I figure out how.

Tapatalk is the easiest way. You can use it to log into the forum straight from your phone or tablet and upload pics straight from it as well.

Brakes?! Suspension? Whuts that?! You can never have too good of brakes imo.

or else the rest of us use flickr to post pics. My phone uploads them automatically and then you just go to their site and you can cut/paste the address to the pick. Then click on the little picture frame with the tree in it just above the reply area(third box from the right) and then paste the address in the window that opens and your done.

Hi guys, i need some more advice. I am hesitant on installing the new top end on my stock bottom end with 180,000 km ( 110,000 miles ). I am debating on buying a fresh 302 with upgraded rods, pistons and ARP hardware, or a fresh 331, either Scat or Eagle. The upgrade to a 331 will cost $2000.00 CAD more than the 302. Is the extra Torque from the 331 compared to the 302 for a street car worth the extra coin?

Depends on what your wanting. More cubes will mean more torque with the RIGHT set of heads and intake. Also depending on the cam. Talk to a reputable builder and they can put the numbers together and give you a better idea of its worth it or not.
