can anyone recomend a good street coverter for my GT? it has a 2001 Bullitt engine, TF intake, stock rear gears, tune. all in all making 250rwhp. i just wanna get my converter issues correctd with something better.....

absolutely not the stock one
either call BC Auto or Dirty Dog and spk w/ Darrin/Allen
They can hook ya up
I personally run a 3500 single disc lock up, but every setup is different
Expect to spend $700-$900 for a good converter

I spent $180 on a 2200 stall in my vette and it feels very nice.

every company such as BC Auto, Dirty Dog, PA, Circle D, etc that Ive seen with all the appropriate specs made to handle more than just bolt ons will be way more than that

I've had a PI, DirtyDog, and now a Circle D converter in my car. I love the Circle D. I never was impressed with the DirtyDog. It was supposed to be a 3800 stall but I never could footbrake it past 1800 without the tires starting to spin. Circle D's 3800 I'm able to footbrake to around 2500 before the tires start to spin.

I have no track numbers with the Circle D yet. Best 60' I could cut with the DirtyDog was a 1.92.

Ive actually heard that same story with multiple buddies about dirty dog, and i have a few friends w/ circle d who are happy. I went with Darrin over at BC and have never looked back

I'm also running a single disc billet converter from Darien @ B.C. Auto and love it. Darien did mention to me that he has a third party build his converters to his specs. In the past it was Alan @ Dirty Dog but he has been using someone else the past couple of years and I?m not sure who.

I'm cutting 1.77 60's on a sticky tire with his converter an before I was only able to pull 2.0 60's on a tire?? It was a Night and day difference. Remember, just like any other modification, a tune is required for it to work to its full potential. My car drove horribly after I installed the converter before I got it corrected in the tune.

heres whats up. from off a light my car shits and gets. when your on the freeway going 65-70 and you step on the gas, it dosent wanna go anywhere unless you floor it, then it picks up and goes.

i was told its either my stock coverter, or a bad fuel pump....

it dosent wanna go, lol. it just feels like it bogs down untill i floor it then it goes like hell.. okay, from a stop, the car shifts great and hard lets say to 55. i take my foot off the gas, then re apply throttle and it dosent wanna go like normal, its like boged down...

I agree with blown97
a very worth while upgrade!!

Not really sure why you think that is the converter....maybe its cause your in O/D with the converter locked? lol ...why would you go anywhere?

but I would say to go with a 3200 converter
