So my girlfriend has a 02 mustang convertible that she bought used for $5000. And now that it has started to rain we noticed that the top leaks into the back area underneath the rear window. Now I have no idea about convertible tops on mustangs as mine is a hard top. But where are some places that I should check? Are there some common leak areas? I don't know if the top is designed to have any water go back there but it seems logical. Livng in Washington it rains almost every day in the winter and I wanna try to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks for any help :)

You could rig it up with some clear silicone temporarily but she'll need to get the rear window section replaced as soon as she can afford too. The stock top usually last @ 7 yrs before that happens. Mine failed in the same area as has most others.

Okay thanks for the help, do you have a guesstimate on about how much that would cost to be replaced?

Probably about 400-500 with parts and labor, it costs just over $1000 for an entire new top installed in replacement vinyl. More for cloth.
