I'm draining all the fluids on my projects car (94 GT). As far as the coolant goes, I've drained the rad, but not the block itself. My Haynes manual says there are two plugs on each side of the block? well I can't find em and the picture in the manual is useless lol. Could I just disconnect the lower rad hose as the block to drain it? or if not does anyone have some pics or something so I know what I'm looking for?

still not sure what those are lol. Keep in mind I havn't done anything like this before so its a first time. Would just taking off the lower rad hose accomplish the same thing?

Removing the lower hose will drain a lot of the coolant but not all. The freeze plugs mentioned are the circular caps along the sides of the block usually silver or copper color, do a quick google search to get a better idea

Since you are pulling the motor, take off the lower hose and get what you can out that way. Then when the motor is out, with the heads and the water pump off turn it on end with the front facing down and almost all will come out.

Well, I'll go ahead and post what I had before since you're tearing the motor down. I didn't want to feed you potential misinformation if you were just doing a flush. There should be two NPT plugs, one on either side of your block, just above the oil pan mating surface. Passenger side should be near the front, driver's side is near the back. The plugs will probably either have a hex recess (i.e. allen key) or male square, which you could get a wrench on.

Okay cool. Thanks guys. I'll go ahead and take off the lower hose tomorrow, and worry about the rest when the engine is out and the plugs are more accessible. Thanks again!
