New here so bare with me. I have a 94 5.0 and she gets a little hot at stops. New cap and thermostat and the water pump doesn't look very old. It's perfect while driving (oh, the fan works too) but gets a little closer to the red then I like when stopped at lights. It even dumps some water from the overflow. I can tell someone has put that stop leak junk in the rad before. Could it be plugged cooling fins? Any advise? Thanks

Before you go and spend more money on it, i'd suggest flushing the radiator first and see where that puts ya.

I would lean towards the pump then.. my cousin has at least 2 bottles of the stop leak in his mustang(cuz he's a tard) and his doesn't overheat. It looks like it's full of oatmeal. It could also be a headgasket, though I'm pretty sure you'd notice it smoking/using coolant. Just be careful about throwing money at it, that gets expensive.

do you have the stock pulleys or are they under drive. the under drive could cause it to overheat

+1 Good point.

Also, it could be your radiator like you mentioned. The reason my cousin put in the 2 bottles of stop-leak was because about 1/6 of the radiator was rotted and made the car overheat. Changed the radiator out and it's fine now. Just do a thorough visual inspection, radiator flush etc.
