My girlfriend was looking for a new car a few months ago, and was down to either an 03/04 Cobra, or a C5 Z06

We test drove both, and both of us liked the vette waaaaay more than the termi. It dorve better, handled better, and it was much faster.

So she ended up getting an 03' Torch Red Z06 with some bolt on mods for $23k

We are both extremely happy with the car, it's awesome!

The automotive enthusiast in me thinks its a great lookin vette. The cyclist in me wants to tell her to get the hell outta the bike lane....

I was driving, I was trying to give Ryan (AtlanticBlue) enough distance to get a good shot :p lol

I'd definitely pick the C6 over the C5Z. I've honestly never been that big on the FRC part of the Z06, the C6 is a nicer car in every way IMO.

Alright, I'm going to be honest. I think we all like Corvettes, but its kind of opposite of what the mustang stands for. Corvette is for the rich man who really doesn't know how to change a flat tire. A mustang is for the working blue collar guys like most of us on here. They come quick from the factory but doesn't hold a candle to the vette from the factory. I have all respect in the world for a Corvette, but the people who drive them are usually stuck up and laugh at mustangs. So thats why I have a chip on my shoulder when it comes to Corvettes/ their owners.

I think you're right, a lot of Corvette drivers are that way. Me and my girl aren't though!

I used to own a 84' crossfire Vette and it sucked. It was slow, 160hp and 12mpg. It handled pretty good I can't complain. I totaled it in Tijuana, Mex and left it in the impound, may it Rest In Peaces. I have to agree that there is a different perception about vette owners, I get a lot more compliments and questions on the stang, it's like the stang is more "approacheable"

I work at a dealership.. I often see richy people driving Shelby's and you can tell they dont know a damn thing about them (like the guy who has some Pep Boys wheels on his Gt500).. but I do notice it more with Corvettes. Same goes for plenty of cars though.

I agree lol

Once I drove her corvette idk I just fell in love with it. I loved how low you sat in the car and how the shifter was more comfortable than in my Mustang.

Like I said, I love both cars :D

I don't know if I'd go that far Javi but yes they are good motors. But the only Chevy I'd own aside from some old badass muscle is the new Z06 and Zr1

My GF has an 01 all stock Z06 with 12K miles that she NEVER drives. Last year I put about 200 miles on the car and she put maybe 50 miles. It is a garage queen. I love the way it drives though. Now my Z06 is a different story. Twin turbo 1000 hp runs mid ro low 9's on 18 inch drag radials. GET SOME.

Need better rods. 1200 RWHP after that. There is plenty of turbo left in it.
