I think Vettes are neat. However, in that price range there are probably other cars I'd buy first. Plus, I see zillions of Corvettes all the time. When I spend that kind of coin, I'll buy something I don't see all the time.

I have a couple friends with C6 z06's and they are fun cars to drive and to beat but for the 80K price tag they paid new, another one of my friends bought a Ford GT used. ($74k actually) I say if you can afford a new vette, then you should step up to a real super car, who cares if it's 2 years old.

As for Base model Vettes, all it says is, I can afford a new car but I can't afford a Zo6. When I see a base model vette I see the owner as, "This is all I could afford." and not, "Look at that bad a*s vette." It might as well have a V6. I've said it once and I'll say it again, Vettes can suck my D***.

There is a lot of heat under the hood that's why the vents are there. As far as work I own a couple of companies mainly in the real estate/mortgage business couple of internet ventures and I also trade currency on the international market. Win some loose some.

Yeah, he has been 9's. He also did the Texas mile. The car had CCW's on it before the new wheels. It made mid 800's IIRC.

IceMan your vette :notworthy:

I will agree i don't like how common vettes are.

I will also disagree when I see a vette that it means "i couldn't afford a Z06." a lot of vette owners don't want a Z06 because A. they ride like sh!t. B. they want a removable roof/convertible. C. they just don't need that kind of power. D. they want an automatic they can just putt around in

Were saying when we spend that kind of money we'd get something you don't see often.

Well, when I was looking for a sports car I took a few things in mind. I wanted an "AMERICAN" made car that can be modded to 1000hp. I had 4 cars in mind. I had the Ford GT was my first option (I had problems finding one for sale that wasn't beat to hell and back), Shelby GT500 (way too heavy), The Viper (ugly) or the new Z06. My choice was the Z06. I wanted a car that I can work on. Sure, I could have bought a used Ferrari, or a Lambo, GT2 Porsche, or anything of that nature, but I dont know jack about those cars. With this car I can make stupid power, and turn wrenches on it. I get a kick from working on cars. And I didn't think I can do that on a "exotic" car. I have friends that have those cars and they pay out the ass for just an oil change.
