just do it, its your car, in my eyes its just another cobra but with fancy paint thats just another mustang, its not like its a 95 cobra r where only like 250 were made, our opinions of what you do doesnt matter, the only thing that matters is what you like and what you want to do

They sell soft moon roofs you can install, they are actually pretty big. It'll take alot of cash, and time to do a swap lie that.

i bet if someone made a bolt-in kit for a retractable hardtop, it'd sell.. best of both worlds imo

just for some gee whiz info: ford had a proto type retractable hard top for the 64-66 stangs. but the orginial designer couldn't make it power. so ford droped the project and just had a soft top vert. i think mustangs unlimited is working on a kit to retro fit the 1st gens for the mod.

If you really want it, go for it... but if I wanted a Mystic vert that bad, I'd buy another 96 cobra vert and have it painted. As long as you own that cra, you should be able to get the paint.

I just don't see the point in this. say you go through with this and it comes out perfect. who ever you tell isn't going to believe you that it is a true mystic that you chopped the roof off of. they'll just think you painted a v6 vert and swapped in a motor. i know if i met you at a car show i'd think you were just full of shite.

once you start on this, there is no turning back. you better have one hell of a body and frame guy to make that all line up. and you'll still need some paint to touch up where you hacked up the roof line.

people do this type of stuff and they are called ford engineers not Bob from the internet.

hey its ty, not bob. and i know some people who have done this, just not on the sn95 specifically.

but its all moot, i'm parting the car out cuz i found a hell of a deal on a well built 97 and i'm doing everything i can right now to swing it.
i thought i already told you guys, sorry, but i'm not rebuilding it and done with the convertible idea. i'd love to do it still, and i know it would really be a challenge, (there are ways to prove its a mystic btw, like a letter from ford that has the vin and says hey you're cool you have #1858 out of 2000) but i found out i'm not going to have nearly as much time as i hoped to do it let alone fix the car.

in the words of my lil brother, just turn up the stereo till the annoying noises go away

True that man.

Here's my look at it... who cares what it's worth, if you like it and you want it go for it. If I wanted a 95 Cobra R convertible and had the cash to do it, I'd do it. The thing is.... it's your car. I think it would be awesome to drive a Mystic vert. The only thing that matters is what it's worth to you.
