Hey!

I don't know if this is a common problem, but all of my door panels rattle. Badly. My lowered, stiffened convertible mustang rattles over any small bump, with noises coming from the door panels and the rear panels on the car. I took off the door panels, put on dynamat liner (actually stinger brand, but pretty much the same thing) covering the metal on the inside of the door. To no avail! After putting some lubricant on the inserts of the door panels, some of the noise was removed, but its still loud. Even the center console creaks when it's leaned against!

Anybody found a good fix for this?

Maybe it is tearing apart my car...

I guess its less of a rattling, and more of a squeaking/creaking. When I lean my elbow against the door panel, it creaks; same happens when going over a bump. I'd really like for it to be a more quiet ride, as the creaks make it sound like my car is falling apart! My suspension is stiff, but not TOO stiff, I mean, H&R super sport springs and tokico HP series shocks. I love the ride, and on a smooth road, its quite nice, but on any bumpier road its baaad!

Any suggestions?

first you need to figure out exactly what is rattling and then isolate the rattle. Figure out if you tighten up the mounting screws or stop the noise by adding pressure to one area and then you can figure out how to keep them from rattling.

You can take off the door panels and put felt on the surface that touches the metal door shell, also use a little grease between the touching plastic on plastic panels

That's a good idea. I'll take a look at what might be rubbing on the door panels and see if putting some felt down would help! Thank you for the suggestions!

If it is your door panels, what I did t is took them off and wrapped a few layers of electrical tap on the pieces that hook o the door as we'll as added a thin strip on the door where the wholes on the door itself where those tabs go into. Next off would be to see if the cups/ bezels for the door handle the snap into the door are rattling. If so try to heat up that piece and open the tab a tin tiny bit. To give some extra tension the that piece. Third thing I would look at is the plastic bezel that holds the speaker I place. See if that is starting to rattle. If the rattling is coming from somewhere else I would suggest to find it and come back to ask us on how to approach it. Some other areas I found were the center counsel as well as my glove box door. I forgot to tighten that back up after taking it out

spray in sound deadenner inside the space between the outside frame and where the panel mounts on and like a few others said cloths of some sort, I was told numerous times by people with new cars how well my doors closed and how quiet it was etc. you can take all your interior panels off and sound deaden it all etc and put some foam here and there in certain spots it will definitely make a world of difference just be weary of the clips etc on the interior panels or you will become real familiar with super glue. Also be sure to cut off all the old electrical tape etc and re-tape wires together and tie wrap them to parts of the door just make sure you are not interfering with the window track and lube all the joints and hinges and you will shit an entire brick house. to do it right you gotta do like I mentioned and take apart the interior etc biggest improvement was relocating all the wires under the dash and tie-wrapping them to secure spots.
