I had an old mechanic friend(rest in peace) that ran a very well known repair shop in my town. When he finally decided enough of the business, he went to work for one of his friends that owned a cab company with a good sized fleet. Standing around chatting with him about Ford CrownVics(because he knew I was deep into Vics at one time) he mentioned how poor the wiring harnesses where with the platform. He told me 200,000 miles were the life of the vics wiring harness and those cars got replacements and if the car had unsolvable issues, they replace the wiring harness.
Im not saying the harness is your problem, but this thread reminds me of the chat my old friend and I had.

rarely anymore. My parents were in Tally and my headquarters were in Tally but all are gone now. I do have a friend that is a Mustang guy and owns a repair shop in Tally but I haven't been up to see him in awhile.
managed to find a used pedal assembly. I didn't realize that the pedal assemblies for the drive by wire cars varied so much on these cars, by year.
found the right part number and I got it sent. put in today so now the monitoring goes now that I have a method of collecting data off of all the throttle sensors from the module in case it does it again and then identify finally the culprit. The ECU's in these cars are of course an older OBD2 and they don't store events. the ECU merely throws a P0600 code saying hey, I got some erroneous information, you need to find it. The P2105 at least points me in the right direction.
Hopefully the pedal was the culprit and it will not do it anymore, but driving the car is the only way to test it. Not a good way to diagnose a forced engine shutdown since it is so erratic and random.

Well damn....i assumed the car was still cable throttle driven. No idea the electronic throttle was a thing. Hopefully you got it figured out

05+ are drive by wire. I think ford did a pretty good job with the throttle response too unlike the same era Mustang.
they did. the new pedal (actually used) seems to be a bit more responsive than the old one. I/m just hoping and praying it fixed it. This is getting old. been over a year now trying to get it sorted out. Problem is, often it goes for months before it does it again.
new development, when using my older code reader that doesn't delve as deep as the Forscan, it showed a P190 code for the fuel rail pressure sensor. if that is being intermittent and feeding bad info to the ecu. I suspect that could create my issue. I have noticed that periodically, it takes two cranks to start which also points to that sensor.
