Are you sure the thermostat in installed correctly. just ck'ing
How old are the hoses?

Did you replace the water pmp?

When you pull codes the fan will kick on low then hi for a coupe seconds each.
Pwr for the fans normally come from the CCRM. How yours are wired IDK.

- i installed it the way it came out, but im always second guessing myself. (any pics to ensure proper installation?)
- i have no idea how old they are, but they look and feel good, i took them off to inspect them. (the clamps look a little...eh, old, but they still clamp down like little beasts)
- when i had the rad off, i ran the fans, both were good. (and powerful, even on a 9v, or some D batteries :) )
I have looked around and read something about the CCRM, which i have no where it is, the guy before me moved and hid stuff. they are wired, however, what looked like stock (little haynes/chilton manual or whatever) using the same color codes. (even if i did wire it backwards, the fans would still spin..just the opposite way! lol)
I checked all the fuses i could think of, and google has taught me that the ccrm can go bad? or relays or something? <geez>
on a side note, the test drive resulted in steam coming from either side of the rad, yet nothing from the cap/relief so i believe the cap is withholding pressure. (i had to take the cap off to relieve the pressure, i thought the damned rad was going to explode. f**king cap hit the hood, and i have a burn on my wrist, lol. was it worth it? i didnt like the idea of aluminum shrapnel :) [whoever thought 225 degree was a good idea should be shot!, lets make colder motors!]

The CCRM is supposed to be next to the rad expansion tank on a bracket
It's about 4'"x4"x1". It has the fuel pump, a/c, and hi and low speed fan relays inside and about 40 wires on 1 connector pluging in to it.

wow. its inside the bumper. meaning ill have to either fight the wiring and small space to disconnect it, or cut the wires i JUST connected to the fan, to test the ccrm. this car is such a pain. i will find whoever did all this to it, and make them cry!

on a whim i caught something online, about the coolant sensor causing the problem. the guy before me had it disconected and capped off, i have since reconnected it, and it ran fine (if not better because of the closed circuit) but as a check i disccnected it and a fan (the other one must have slipped out of the connection) turned off full blast like they used too.
WTF is going on. bad ETC sensor?

there is 2 coolant temp sensors
1 left side of the intake and 1 on the right side.
1 side goes to the computer and the other only goes to the inside guage.

yeah, the one for the computer, left side. when disconnected i guess it goes into that failsafe mode and kicks the fans on?
