let us know how this helps,as far as the seafoam trans tuneup do you just add some or do you flush the old and use this as the main fluid?

You add it to the old fluid. Run it for a while, turning the wheels side to side. Then replace it with new fluid.

lol.

Ok well what is the best way to get most of the fluid in one swoop? Somebody somewhere said to undo the return line on the fluid cooler. Would that get most of the fluid drained out? I heard power steering systems are notorious for being hard to flush.

Yeah undo that line. Add fresh fluid. Run it for a while. Flush it again and add new fluid again. Is the best way to go about it to make sure all old fluid is out.

Thought I'd update this old, abandoned thread. After swapping in the new ATF fluid about a month from the OP of this thread, the pump was still noisy. I couldn't ever find that ford brand additive that was recommended in this thread, so I bought some Lucas brand additive instead. That stuff was much thicker than the ATF that went in there. It killed the noise, the pump sounds normal now, like any other car with a normal sounding pump. You might have to add more than one bottle of the lucas, and you'll definitely have to drive it around awhile for it to start working. But it works, it will kill the noise. You can still hear the pump, but you have to listen for it and try to hear it. No more of that "Ford pump whine".
