yeah, get the DPFE at ford. before you spend money on it though, make sure the connections are clean and the hoses are all plugged where they need to be.

i had the P1401 code too, thought i had checked everything, was about to replace the DPFE, and then i noticed 2 vacuum llines unplugged

there is no write up, but its fairl easy to check. 2 hoses plug into the back of the DPFE. both these hoses plug into the EGR tube. the one on the DPFE thats closest to the passanger side goes to the port closest to the cat on the EGR tube. the other one on the DPFE (closest to the drivers side) goes to the top port on the EGR tube.

there is an electrical connection on the DPFE, make sure its clean.

there is also another vacuum line that comes out the front of the DPFE, cant remember how it goes, but it splits in 2, one goes to the top of the EGR, the other goes to the fuel pressure regulator or something like that, cant remember

* P0401 Insufficient EGR Flow.
* P0402 EGR Flow Excessive at Idle.
* P1270 Engine RPM or Vehicle Speed Limiter Reached.
* P1401 Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor circuit High Voltage.

those are the ones i pulled last night but i deleted them with an SCT X3 handheld and they came back up on my way home so i'm not sure which ones they are but i'm sure they are prolly the same..

how do i go about fixing this?!

When I got the insuffecient flow it was a split hose. I have a spare DFPE off my 96 if you need one. Check the 2 hoses off the DFPE and you might need to replace them. I just deleted all my stuff for the ease of everything.

how much you want for it?
i heard that the DFPE on 96s were garbage and it was a recall item... but i guess the guy who had this before me didn't do it?
can you take pics of where these hoses are and what to look for because i'm lost.

say $20 shipped. I don't need it anymore. I don't have the hoses any more. Just the DFPE and the EGR valve and tube. The hoses run behind the head and connect to the egr tube and somewhere.

the sensor sits on the left of the drivers side head in the back. Its attached to the manifold by a black bracket and 2 bolts. Its a gray box with two hoses coming off it and a electrical plug. If you can take a pic of your engine bay I can circle it for ya. I have no pics of my old engine bay anymore. Memory card got screwed up last year.
