Hello All,
So here is the skinny on this car for those of you who care to read the tale. I have owned several mustangs in my lifetime, I still have a barn full of 67-68 coupes and a couple cougars, and just sold my 69 fastback; but I digress.Curry Hurry is a curry yellow 1995 Mustang v6 car that had no power train or interior when I bought it.I only paid $300 for it and had intentions of making an oval track racer out of her.
Here's a couple of pics when I brought it home:
The car sat this way for about 6 months due to the multitude of projects I take on (not that anyone here knows what I mean.) I was driving a 1995 BMW 318i and my buddy desperately wanted it, so I sold it and went car hunting again. I was looking at some 94+ GTs in my area, Alberta, Canada, and wasn't finding a decent bang for your buck car. Then I came across this:
It was a 1996 Mustang GT, hit HARD in the passenger front corner. So hard in fact that it moved the rail back into the firewall 1.5" and kinked the floor under the passenger seat. It ran well, was a manual, had a half decent exhaust and is otherwise stock. I picked it up for $1000 on Thursday, and pulled this out of my shop Monday night:
It was a lot of work, especially in four days. Complete wiring swap, interior, front sub frame, all suspension, power train, etc.... The only thing that is still original to the car is the body and the headliner. As it sits I only have $2200 in the car, and this includes 4 new tires.
The List:
-Tokico front struts from 03 Mach1
- Comp Racing Rear shocks
- 2" Lowering springs
- Dynaflow 2 1/2" cat-back exhaust
- Aluminum drive shaft
- Black 2003 GT Wheels
- 2003 GT seats, chrome double din bezel, aluminum pedals, and GT fender badges
- JVC Dvd player; <insert stereo BS no one cares about here>
- Nylon rear bushings
Now you're thinking to yourself "Self, this is a regular looking mustang that some fool put a garbage 4.6L into (in a 1995 no less) and is saying is fast? What gives?"
I completely understand, but this is just the stage of the cars life where I daily drive it. Where it's getting a little oddball is that I picked up an all aluminum 4.6L 4v, forged crank, forged pistons and H beam rods.... Yeah, build that guy and slap two turbos on it and this car is going to scream. I will post more as the engine comes together, I do the tear down next Wed.
I also have complete tubular rear suspension, narrowed 8.8" with Moser axles. The car may get a roll cage, and definitely will get sub frame connectors.
Thanks for reading my little story, and any questions feel free to ask. Also, if anyone has a 96-98 cobra throttle cable or intake I would love to hear from you. Cheers!
