I got everything for my gears install, I pray everything goes well. I just wanted to know whats the stock speedo gear for the Auto transmission in the 96 GT so I can put it in the Dallas SpeedCal Calculator so I get the right code for the switches....

I got 3.73's, Master bearing kit, Amsoil Gear oil/Ford Friction Modifier, Trak-lok Rebuild kit....

Thanks

Thanks Droptop, I didn't know if it was a 19t or 20t, but yeah just to make sure the 96 GT Auto's came with 3.08's right?

My 97 auto was 3.08's, but they came with 2.73's, 3.08's and ( as an option) 3.27's.

If your sticker is still on the left door jam it will have the code there.

Hope this helps, good luck... :thumb:

sct says in their book thing that their tuner can adjust the speedo for rearend gear changes and tires changes. So could you just do that?

Only on 99+ Mustangs, 96-98's have to either find the right speedo gear or use a speed-cal ( what I did ).

how do you know what you have stock?
My stock gear was 2.73 :( 3.08 or 3.27 would have been better.

Check your door tag and there might be one on the axle with the code. Or you can jack it up and turn the tire one full rotation and count how many times the driveshaft turns....(mark the driveshaft with chalk or something)
