So today I went to take my son to his football game, when I got about a mile outside of town I pulled over thinking my trunk wasnt shut all the way. When i got out i heard a sqeaking sound and a clinking sound. I immediately took the car home and parked it. I got home and decided to go out and see what the issue was. Upon pulling the inspection case off the clutch cable area, I look up with a flashlight and see my throw out bearing had split in 2 pieces. FAWK!!! To top it off my pilot bearing is going bad as well. Uggghhh!

I am going to order a ford racing throw out bearing and pilot bearing. The clutch is great and holds like no other so I am impressed with the clutch itself. \

BTW its an EXEDY stage 1.

Sucks to hear ya gotta tear it apart for $25 worth of parts. Check your rear main seal while you have the trans out....cheap insurance IMO

Yeah it sux but what can you do right?

I put a new rear main in while the motor was out for the oil pan replacement, along with new head, intake and water pump gaskets.

Here is the carnage of the throwout bearing. This is how we found it when we pulled the motor.

Hhahahaha. I got the FRPP one to replace it along with the FRPP pilot bearing.

Yea Ive read that using any throwout other than the FRPP one will result in this happening.

luckily changed mine before it exploded. i took it off and I literally was able to pull it apart by hand.
