Damn tranny

So my tranny was sounding like the TOB was going out (making a slight grinding noise when in N and when you put the clutch in it went away, also whining in every gear but 4th) or at least that is what i thought. I replaced it today and it is still making all the same noise's...... Anyone got any ideas?

Did you check out the clutch fork to see if it has excessive wear on the fork itself or the clips at the pivot and TOB? Also, my brothers 01 gt did the same weird TOB noise at idle, but turned out the pedal needed to be adjusted as it was putting slight pressure on the TOB. Try lifting up the clutch pedal with your foot at idle or adjust the pedal to see if the noise goes away or gets better.

death whine!! bearings inside the tranny are shot that exactly what mine did.. only reason it didnt do it in 4 th is because it is 1:1 ratio.. time to replace or rebuild..

ya droped it off at ford today and they said its dead..... Now i just have to decide what to do and fast. Im driving to FL on the 18th lol.

So what is the breakin like for a new t-5? miles and what rpm's to keep under if any?

i drove mine 500 miles.. at about 3k shifts and under... and it did great.. but i would go thru the gears on the lift and let the fluid get on everything just 2 be safe...
