Not heard of that, unless its the bit on the left to rest your foot on for very long journies.

just a place to rest your left foot. its recommended you put your foot there, it braces your body during heavy braking etc...

So it's just a carry over on the floor pan for automatics? I've never done "heavy breaking" without my left foot on the clutch.

its just there to rest your foot when doing nothing basically

It is a booster. By pressing it hard enough it immediately boosts your car to the 88 miles an hour necessary for the flux capaciter to transfer your through time.

Its for resting your foot on long trips or just whatever. Its called the dead pedal cause it doesn't do anything. :crazy2:

During heavy braking, I'm always on the live clutch pedal. Once in a while on a long cruise I do rest lefty on there though.
