Alright guys, here's my problem. The lanyards (i think thats what they're called) to my hood pins have got pretty disgusting over the months. I don't drive the car in bad weather & it sits in an open door garage, but it's back far enough where no percipitation gets to it. Anyways, the plastic coating on the lanyards has transcended from clear to this awful brown look! Does anybody know how to knock this off? Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You can see what section is under the hood & what section isn't

I would take them off and spray some wd-40 on them and scrub them down with something like steelwool as they appear to be rusted. Is there a plastic coating on them?

huh my cheap mr gasket lanyards didnt have a plastic coating, scratched my paint pretty badly too. to be honest i think your best bet would be to replace them, they should only be like $10-15 from summit.
