Detonation???

I am in need of a little education. I have a Lighting that I have been told had some detonation issues before I owned it. What is detonation, what will it do over time, and how can I fix it?

Year lightning? It can commonly be due to timing or running lean

When unburn fuel ignites after the conbustion. Cause by extream heat and pressure low octain gas timing (ignition issues) or fuel issues. Some other things I bet but all I can think off. Depending how bad it is it can mess you engine up.

its an 04 and very healthy. it pull over 5 out back. it skips a little on the low rpms like 2k and lower. only does it when you hold it down low or try to drive it like a normal truck (slow take off and stuff). but when you give it more gas it levels out and no problems. and when you hammer it, it has no problem turning into a smoke machine. i have tried to address the issue but no luck so far.
i changed the plugs, coils, tested the injectors, and ran fuel additive. but its still there.

get it tuned, you probably have way too much timing for the setup. hope you got a honking deal, this might end expensive for you in the long run.

i did get a good deal. its the stock blower fully ported. its throwing 13 psi to the intake.

I would get it on the dyno and have a reputable tuner work some magic.
