:eek:ccasion14: (this thread is not about performance of the two cars)

So far the things i noticed removed from the 96-98

-The door panel on the 1995 is a dotted leather which looks nice.-

The 97 just had hard plastic there if im correct.

The rear wheel well vents

Lights in the trunk and glove department

The 1997 didn't have lights in either.

Someone said something about the front fender or something? This is not to save $$$, but a different design? To me both fenders look exactly the same.

Also, the gauges in the 1995 are more notchy and sensitive to changes... its like they actually work better.

Just some of the things i noticed missing from my 97GT leather interior.

ANYTHING ELSE?????

well the gauges are different because they are computer driven with the obd2 rather than direct connects with the obd1 i thought.

you have to figure its not all about cost savings. it could also be about a better design. 95-95s were the first years, they perfect a design the more then do it. the map pockets are different between 94 and 95. 94s had cloth in there where as 95 and newer had just straight plastic.

My 96 GT has both of these (went out and checked just to be sure) Are you saying that only 96 has them and 97, 98 dont?

I've heard things about the 96/97/98 Cobras being different.

The 96 Cobras had the strut tower brace and the 98's didn't(an effort to cut costs by FoMoCo apparently)
The 96 Cobras had a eggcrate grille insert, all 96 mustangs did i believe.
The IMRC plates were aluminum on the 96 Cobra but were composite/plastic on the 97/98's.
The carpeting was thinner on the 98 models as well as the rear seats being vinyl instead of real leather on the 96 snakes(i think this one might be BS though.)
Also the brake vents in the rear scoops were deleted for the 96+ model years.

I definitely think Ford was doing some cost cutting/modifications though...

My '97 has a trunk light. No glove compartment light though. I hate the one color door panels, but I never saw a '94-'95 door panel. Didn't know they had that little insert, but no pocket along the bottom.

But it's ok, the vertical tails probably cost a million times more than horizontals since they are a million times nicer. :angel4:

Ford made the 96-98's cheaper and suckier so that buyers would be more attracted to the real Mustangs, the 94-95's sitting in the used lots.

if they were so attractive, then why would they even be on a lot being sold used?

zing!

For some reason, people like to trade in cars every year or so and collect large amounts of debt.

But yes, I failed on that one. Imma just go back to my hole and work on more anti-4.shitL jokes.
