My 97 has a trunk light.

I hate that dotted leather stuff. They have the same type in Explorer's and it looks ancient and dirty.

i strongly dislike the cheap vinyl that tears or delaminates. or seam crinkles in the arm rest of the door panels.

Ford made the 96-98's cheaper and suckier so that buyers would be more attracted to the real Mustangs, the 94-95's sitting in the used lots.

if they were so attractive, then why would they even be on a lot being sold used?

zing!
They were tired of answering how fast there 4.6 is. God I hate that question :BangHead:

Ford is always trying to save money by putting the cheapest stuff they can get! However, once it breaks and you have to change it anyway you can always go with something better! This is usually when the modifications begin!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you really like those perforated door panels? Personally I can't stand them if any thing gets in those holes you can't get it out. If you are cleaning them with some spray or something like that it stays in the hole. I much rather the smooth ones from 96 up easier to maintain.

I love them. Makes the interior look more stylish IMO.

I've never had them so I couldn't talk about maintenance, but they look sporty.

what year did they switch to a solid, one color door panel? I know they did that to save money.

97 was the first year of the solid color door panel.

I've had all black interior in my 94 GT, and my 97 Cobra. My b/f has a 97 Cobra with black/tan interior, my brother has a 95 Cobra with black/tan interior....I want to say it's just an option.

In my 94, I had fabric in the map holder or whatever you call it...In my 97, it's just plastic. 94 and 97 don't have any cup holders...What else to add? lol

EDIT: My 94 didn't have the dotted panel on the door

when i said first year, i meant:

if your car has a two tone ineterior (black/gray or Black/tan) and it is a 94-96 the top of your door panel will be black with the lower portion the other color (gray or tan)

if it is a 97-98, the top half and lower half of the door panel will be the accent color (gray or tan)

and of course, full black was available for all years

i think honestly its a matter of options for the 96-98, because my buddies 96 had v6 cloth interior, manual windows, manual drivers seat, while my car has power windows, power locks, power seat, lights in trunk and glove box, and my interior is cloth like the gt and cobra seats

Lights in the trunk and glove department

The 1997 didn't have lights in either.

My 96 GT has both of these (went out and checked just to be sure) Are you saying that only 96 has them and 97, 98 dont?

my glove didn't have a light but my trunk did on my 98.. My 99 has no trunk light = ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

one thing I will complain about until the day I die about 94-01 mustangs is the WORTHLESS center console. let's put a cup holder where you can't shift. FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU POS FORD ENGINEER.

cup holders were an after thought. figured youd be driving to agressive to enjoy a drink. lol

You, Sir, atlanticblue98. Always seem to impress me. You know a lot about these cars.
