Re: Can EFI cars kinda 'flood' out?

I drove it @ about 60 for 7 miles. I drove 70 on the way back into town. Never even thought of acting up. I was killing time 'til I was to be @ my mechanic's. He hooked it up to the scanner thing. It showed no codes of any kind! He said it might have been like a tiny drop of water in my gas. Once it worked itself out, it was like nothing ever happened. It's running just fine now. I have no idea on it. Thanks!!

I went to the town where my upholster & audio guys are today. I got that all done, & came back home. I forgot yesterday to have that A/C plate thing put on yest when I had my oil changed. I stopped in to schedule that. He was putting Cervini's Side Exit Exhaust onto a GT500 clone. I stayed looking it for maybe 30 minutes? I then got in my car to head home. I started going, all the sudden it started doing the same exact thing as before! It stalled out 1/3 in the middle of the hwy. In my town, not much traffic so that was never a prob. I think this time it died though. I finally got her fired & limped back to his shop, maybe 50 ft?

I started it back up, did worse than last time! I let it sit for about 50 minutes. Started up just perfect! I just filled up like 53.7 miles ago! I also put in that B12 Injector Cleaner stuff. He is going to change the fuel filter tomorrow.

try some dry gas in the tank. do you always get gas in the same station?

Sorry, I have no idea what dry gas is. Never get gas where I got it today. I mean, not in the past month. I used to only get it from there when I lived there. 97-99. I don't pass through there that much now.

Yeah, please reply back with that dry stuff defined so maybe I know.

Did I say the last time my fuel filter was replaced was on 7/31/06?

3 years, but only like 14,426 miles ago. It will be done tom, though.

a can of heat will take the water out of there for you.

yea that's the name of the stuff. "HEAT". there might be some other brand manes too. It'll be in the section of the auto parts store where all the additives are.

I had the fuel filter replaced. Bobby says there is no way of telling if that was what caused it to mess up. Hope that came out right! I then went to talk with 03 Cobra buddy. I had not told him any of this latest prob. He said it sounds like the fuel pump is trying to go out! He says on an old car, it would do the same thing. He'd let it rest, then it would run fine til it did it again! I meant to go tell my mechanic this but forgot. Be right back!!!

I ran this by my mechanic. He said prob not, too. He said it would not just get better! I think he said they just go out? I'm so afraid to drive my car anywhere now!

I would try a can of heat just on the safe side, it evaporates water from the tank. Other then that Idk

I have a question why did you mechanic say you don't have codes. I would think that even if you CEL came on once and went off 12seconds later the code would be stored.
