Will the FRPP 8.8 aluminum diff cover clear a MM Panhard bar on an 01 Bullitt? Car is on coil overs with stock sway bar.

Thats a great question! I do have an aluminum 8.8 cover that i snagged from an awd independant rear exploder. I had to mill off a few components, but was a cheap upgraded cover. It is thicker than the metal cover too. I can see where clearance would be an issue and im sorry I am no help, but we got some mad genious mustang folk here. Hang on and someone will reply.

I'm almost positive that 05+ diff covers are slightly more shallow. So any company's 05+ covers should fit. I have a LPW and it clears. The LPW Ultra is a low profile cover.

Where else would I put them :)

There is a project on the board to strengthen that aspect of the chassis.
Stifflers has a new (not on their website yet) option that relocates the shock mount inside the frame rail but I don't think it'll clear a phb1000001854.jpg

Fits in my ‘95 coupe, along with the MM Panhard bar, torque arm, sway bar and adjustable LCA’s. Just have to drop 2 bolts on the sway bar to do rear gear oil swaps, which aren’t very frequent.

Do those girdled covers have any real utility on stock-ish horsepower? Seems like most of the diff covers which aren't just a stamping also include the bearing cap girdles but I always wonder if it's solving a problem that doesn't exist outside of huge power and competitive racing.

You're right. Don't bother unless you've got something like 600 to the ground. The 8.8 SRA itself will hold just fine and some people have pushed them farther than even that with very little work to it, if any at all. That's why they're still so sought after today as well as the Ford 9". So good that LS, Mopar, and even import owners buy them.

It came with the rear end that I bought. I have been thinking about swapping it out for the finned, 13/14 GT500 version. Mainly for heat dissipation.

Anyone see the new Banks "ram air" differential cover?
How long til that design trickles down to the 8.8s
