unplug battery

under dash there are three bolts, remove those to take out the glove box.

deeper in the dash are two bolts that hold the air bag in. unbolt those.

slide airbag out, unplug wire.

install airbag delete if you dont want an air bag there and dont want the air bag light to stay on.
otherwise remove airbag from car, or slide it back in un-plugged and re-bolt it back in. place electrical tape over air-bag light.

re install glove box.
re install battery terminals under the hood.

You do know that the air bag module will not go to sleep or even be 100% deactivated for over 20 minutes of no battery right (depending on manufacture), almost NONE are dead instantly after disconnecting the battery.

good advice duffy,

with a car part with the explosive power of a 12 ga. shot gun, it would be best to hold (or zip-tie) the battery cables together to drain the system of any residule power. duffy makes a good point, let it sit for a little while before working on the airbag systems.
