Forgive this question, but...

Did you loosen the distributor hold down?

Are you being overly cautious? Sometimes it takes a little effort to turn it the first time... If the car runs okay then it can't be anything down in the motor itself... it has to be caught on something or tugging a spark plug wire or something small...

I took the cap off and and tried pretty hard to get it to move, it didn't budge! I sprayed wd-40 and didnt do anything. It's not caught on anything that I can see. :-/

It may have just seized up with the oring and the base to block, take a brass punch and give it a couple shots at the base of the distributor.

It is probally siezed then. Take a pry bar or something to give you leverage and slowly tap it up and it should break free.

i would use small soft rubber-faced mallet and tap upwards very gently and if it still won't move then give it slightly firmer taps

I got it... I took a pry bar and hit it with a hammer a few times and it moved. I bumped it to 14 degrees =)

Does 14* make it ping?

On 87 it might but on 93, the 5.0's LOVE it... I just got my friend to bump his timing after a year of giving him shit and he was freaking out at the difference it made.

No it didn't ping. I bumped it to 16 for a second and it didn't ping but I thought it was too high so I put it to 14.

16 isn't too high either... there's a fine line between performance and too much timing... I've yet to find it, but 14 seems like a very happy medium.
