the clamp that holds the dizzy down has the two forks broken, and the dizzy spun itself enough to kill the car, and now it wont start, no matter how i adjust it and try to start.

am i just going to have to take the whole thing out, and go TDC and reset the whole thing? or is there a nice little shortcut i can use to just get it to start so that i can adjust the timing with my light?

imo, I would do it correctly to make sure your sh1t is running correctly.

Don't pull the dizzy. It can only turn so far. Replace the hold down clamp and have some on crank the engine while you rotate the dizzy until it catches and smooths out. If you have a timing light you should be able to see where you're at while doing this.

so the timing light will still show the timing while the engine is cranking, but not started? if so that would definently help..

yes but, when the hold down broke the distributor may have come up and jumped some teeth. do the tdc just to be sure.

Maybe, but it won't hurt to try starting it. If it did lift and jumped some teeth it probably won't start.

alright, it'll take like 5 days to get that little hold in, to any auto store around here. :/
if TDC is the best way, I will take you all's advice.
thanks for the input :)
