if you look at mine , it dose not have a square hole , you must use a wrench on the bolt head on pulley as your tension ither up or down , mine you push down

Mine doesn’t have that notch in the front either!

if this is your car, I can see the square hole in that pic just below and to the left of the bolt holding the pulley.

Not my car but I wish my tensioner had that square hole!

I just found this one, new, online. It’s a “Dayco” brand (is Dayco any good??). But, it has the notch! Unless I can remedy my no-notch assembly, I think I should get this one and make life simpler!E2C6B6B2-DB4F-406E-B47B-3A97679A180D.jpeg

all you need to do is get a ratchet on the bolt that is holding the pulley and use it to put apply the force to the tensioner.

DONE DEAL!!!
And man and I GRATEFUL for all the help from everyone! Once I got that tensioner assembly, popped the other one out, new one went in and 30 minutes later (after winding the serpentine belt around and through per the diagram on the top of the radiator sticker)… everything worked as it should. NO MORE SQUEAKY SOUNDS!!! New belt and tensioner did the trick. Owner and motor are happy again!
