Only made one pass because my daughter wasnt having any part of the drag strip. my first and only run went like this

r/t: .194
60': 2.312
330: 6.496
1/8: 9.917
mph: 71.15
1000: 12.893
1/4: 15.395
mph: 90.25

I launched at 2k and spun pretty bad off the line. Car is a 96 npi car, 5spd w/ 142,xxx miles and bone stock down to the stock mufflers. I think i could cut it down a little bit with a better launch though. what do u guys think, does this sound about right for a bone stocker npi car?

Sounds about right for older car and normal/amateur driver in this weather. :dontknow:

Stock 5 speeds have ran mid 14s...the norm is usually high 14s/ low 15s

My auto pulled 14.6 with just 3.73s

That sucks man, last time I went I only got 5 runs in :sad5: Not bad though for your first time, it's tough when you don't know what to expect. Hopefully next time you will be able to get a few more in. Try lowering your tire pressure a little, I think it was 28psi that worked pretty well for me on street tires, if the car starts to wiggle a little at the end, put a little more back in till you find the sweet spot

thanks guys. my wife thought it would be ok to bring my 4 month old daughter and my 14 month old daughter. my older one loved it, she goes around all day thinking she is a race car and making car sounds. my youngest has never been around anything that loud and cryed the whole to so we had to leave. im going back this coming friday so hopefuly i can bust out a better time.

get that 60' time down and you will be in the 14's.

Dont do a burn out w/ street tires if you did. Just give them a few rotations to clean the dirt off them. Street tires dont hook better when heated up. Try taking off more easy or from an idle.

that sounds right. ive got an auto npi 98GT. like he said dont do a burnout. just clean the tires off a little b4 u go n2 the lanes. and launch from maybe 1500-1800. and def get gears if u want 2 bump that time up a bit w/o blowing out ur wallet. these 2.73s we're stuck with suck. get @ LEAST 3.73s. i personally would go with 3.90s. which is wut im getting for my auto. but the experience def helps everytime

thaks alot guys. yeah, i def went around the water box then cleaned the tires off so there wasnt any water on them at all. my old 98 had 3.73's and its a night and day diffrence between those and these stock gears.

Im not to worried about this motor, just seeing what i can get out of it. i think i have my quad sold so im going to grab an aluminum pi explorer motor here soon if everything goes right.

You should be able to shave about 3 tenths off your 60 foot. That would put you in the mid to high 14's which is very good for that combo. Just work on your launch as others have said.
