doing fuel pump soon

ok so my fuel pump whines like you wouldn't believe. so as such im gonna replace it. so as ive gathered so far one i will be replacing the filler neck boot gasket wtf ever due to it being a problem part on our cars then from there i need me a walbro 255 and an adjustable FPR. or so i gather. question is do i get the Walbro GSS340 which is the high pressure 255 or just the standard 255. i dont ever see me going charged just a full built smog legal ride. also i understand there are issues up to the charcoal canister in the trunk? any insight to get me on track for the swap in a month or two would be awesome.

im running the BBK 255 (walbro pump) and havent had any problems yet and thats with a stock FPR.....the gasket would be nice also since the tanks down, wish i would have done that with mine.....but good luck with it man, its fairly easy to swap the pumps, can be done in an hour

I would recommend just the standard 255 unless your running a SC/Turbo. it should supply more than enough fuel.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. The high pressure 255 is meant for forced induction.

I went with the standard pressure, works fine with my blower.

Before you buy the 307 you should be aware that they both pump at the same pressure. The difference is in the flow at any given pressure. Here's a quick summary for 40 psi and 60 psi.

GSS 307 (low pressure 255):

233 lph @ 40 psi
199 lph @ 60 psi

GSS 340 (high pressure 255):

244 lph @ 40 psi
217 lph @ 60 psi

Unless there is a big dollar difference I would stay with the GSS340 ($100). And, it has no impact on the FPR, stock or otherwise.

so far i noticed the gss340 is the same price so im just gonna roll with that since its going to be more consistent overall.

So I ordered my pump do I need to order an install kit or will it have a kit with it? I'm assuming it won't since the gss340 fits a ton of different vehicles.

Go to your local Ford dealer and buy a fuel neck filler seal, as well as a fuel pump hat seal (should be a 99 cent O-ring). Make
sure you loosen the 3 or 4 bolts that hold the filler neck to the body before you drop the tank.

Well my gss340 just got here and I thought about it I got me a pump thats going to be doing a ton of fuel returning now I need the rest of my stuff from LRS to show up so I can do the install.
