Your sleeping and when you wake up the next morning some prick has pulled a hit and run on your car? Well, I now know the feeling. On friday night some asshole hammered into my driver's door, completely screwing it up. Im taking the car in for the est. tomorrow, and MIGHT get some other body damage fixed in the process. Still, this bites the big one!

I had the same problem, well not as bad :hammer: and the best thing is just get an used door, they ran for about $150 - $200
and just take it to get it painted to match the car. Best thing to do IMO.

ouch! That's what we are doing, we are going to see my dad's buddy that owns an autobody shop. If he can fix it for less than the $700 deductible charge, we will get it fixed along with the ripple in front of the passenger rear wheel and my keyed fender. If not We have to take it to the insurance people and get screwed worse than we do at the pumps.

Lol I sleep in the basement, heard nothing. Heck, when I got in it to go to get some money from the bank I didnt notice. I found out by the wind noises and constantly trying to shut the door. FInally had enough, got out of the car and saw the big dent. Let's just say the censors couldnt have kept up to how much I was swearing :p.

Sadly, I have to park on the street, parents get garage and my dad leaves for work every morning at 6am so driveway is off limits. Ironic part, I am the last of 4 kids to park there(my other brother who is 20 parks his Probe GT right behind me) and Im the ONLY one to get hit parking there in the past 8 years! Kinda crappy, but within hours I will know how bad my damage is :(. Not looking forward to this.

Well, Im going to pay the $700 deductible on the insurance. Our friend that owns a body shop gave us a quote of $2500, some other guy said $3200. Needless to say, We might slip some money under the table for my dad's friend and get the WHOLE car repainted for a little bit cheaper then normal :thumb:

Door is being replaced, but in order to get in fixed properly. it is easier to go through insurance. He said he could get a new door, paint it and put it on but it wouldn't match up to the other colours right. So we are going through the insurance to get the whole driver's side repainted and as I said, we will ask him how much to repaint the rest of the car out of my pocket, so my car looks as bright as the sun, literally :p.

An update for you guys. Got the official appraisal from the insurance guys at $2600, and will only get that fixed and maybe the passenger side rear fender. Bad news, they have to do a "value" of my car so if my car somehow has dropped over 5 grand in value over 2 years(when brother got it valued 2 years ago, it was worth $7700), even better yet, I have to wait until thursday for anymore news on going to get it fixed. :wall:

My '95 got hit with a beer bottle last year while the car was parked on the side of the road. Left a big scratch and a small dent, and it pissed me off to no extent, I'd probably have a heart attack if it got hit like that without me knowing it. Hopefully your insurance company won't try and jerk you around.

^^ THought about it, but Live in Saskatchewan canada, theres a reason why my car got it. The roads are TERRIBLE here I will be driving this car in winter, so I need stock height. I was going to go with a 1/2 inch or 1 inch drop, but my dad stopped me due to probably bottoming out on the streets. I am saving all my money up to get a brand new Mustang(2010 model) when I graduate in 2010 for my grad gift to myself, probably keep this car and turn it into a drag car.
