This is a pic of my old engine and on my new engine block I'm missing the dowel pin to hold the metal plate so I can bolt the flywheel. Is this dowel pin the same size as a engine dowel pin? Or is it a different size?

How does this fly wheel look? I cleaned it up with some brake cleaner and there are no cracks or scuffs on it. There are maybe 2 or 3 tiny heat spots on it. Is it ok to reuse this flywheel?

Prob a dealer only part I'm sure they can get one. They index your bellhousing. As for the flywheel. I'd spend the money and have it resurfaced it's only a few $ for a machine shop to do it.

I'd think about replacing it..I'm not sure on the use for your car or how much power you plan on getting out of it..for a stock (ish) motor that's not getting the living snots beat out of it is say it's fine..but by looking at it it's kinda one of those "as long as I'm this far into it" things......also which engine dowel pin are you referring to in comparison to the fluwheel? Check out ARP..you'd get a set instead of being able to buy just one but hey if ya need it ya need it

I would say resurface the flywheel.
As for the dowel pin... the ones that go into the flywheel and that help mate the cylinder heads and block are completely different. You should be able to find a flywheel/pressure plate dowel pin kit on most mustang websites ex: CJ pony, American Muscle...

I will be making making around 400 to the wheels..I will check the dealer for those dowel pins and get the flywheel machined. If I knew before hand the dowel pins were not there, I would have removed the old ones from my old damage engine before I sold it.

I also say surface it. And a new clutch is necessary, specially with your power goals.

You have the pins, at least they are in your pic. I have not had them in my race car, ever. They are a nice guide, and I'd probably put them in at your power level for insurance, but I've had my clutch out several times and the PP bolts do a fine job of holding it all together.

What clutch do you recommend that will handle 400 plus hp and easy on the foot? Is the King Cobra clutch good to use? Also can I reuse the flywheel bolts?

I really like the Exedy setups. Had a stage 1 on my race car for years and it held up great.

ACT is also quality stuff, my drag race buddy swears by them with 800HP. The rear end/tranny went before the clutch did. :(
