Theres a lot of variables to think about here.

Probably the main concern I would have about running slicks with your car for example would be bogging.

I dont know if you have enough power or gear to launch on slicks and hook without bogging down.

You also have to worry about your axles/diff.

Launching at 5k on slicks is hard on the stock drivetrain.

I would say .3-.5 would be attainable if you dont bog...but with your car I wouldnt expect much more than .2-.3 tenths.

Just like every other thread like this....buy slicks and go find out ...nobody knows what will happen.

Depends on the track conditions too.

When I was running Nittos I was not getting anything better then a 2.1 but I switched to the MT DR's and cut a 1.808 on the first run (have not had another low 1.8 since then :BangHead:) but Id say you can get around 1.7's to 1.6's w/ them depends on the rest of your suspension set up, you might not get better then 1.8's you never really know.

Me personaly think you could gain almost a full second as long as you preload every thing and dont be stupid like just holding it at like 5000rpm and side step the cluch and slamming every thing together that is how you break stuff most of the time.

I think its really stretching it and wishful thinking to expect a full second drop w/ just slicks. If that was the norm many more people would be running slicks. Getting to drive your car better at the track will drop your times more then anything else other then huge jumps in power. Practice can do a lot I went from a 14.2 to a 12.7 w/ nothing but swapping 3.27 gears to 3.73's different exhaust and MT DR's. First run w/ the car the way it was when I bought it and a long time w/ out going to the track was a 14.2, after the addition of those parts and driving at the track all summer I was at 12.7

My 60ft was shitty I ran the car 3 times and every pass was a 2.2 with 17inch street tires I dont see that 60ft getting any better. But if i went to a 15inch drag slick i would almost bet that I could cut a 1.8 60ft that would shave a good bit off my e.t.

your talking about mustangmatt96gt

I thought his fastest run was 13.19 at 99 mph with a 1.682 60 foot
.

He also has his car at a race weight of 3320, suspension mods, 4.10s, nitrous, and launches at like 5k.

So I dont see how comparing his car to yours would do any good seeing as youve probably got atleat 200 lbs on him, no suspension mods, stock gears, and your not spraying out of the hole.

You might be able to knock a second off your 1/4 with slicks if you were running like 13.8 with 400 rwhp and spinning 1/4 way down the track.

But in your case, I really dont see you knocking even half of that off your time.

Get some slicks and see what happens

Ive weighed my car with me in it, its weight is 3400 even that was on an offical cat scale. What im saying is that he has stock axles right? I remember him saying that, He has alot of passes on them and was waiting on them to break so he could put in the 31 spline.I said I could launch my car hard enough on stock axles and cut a 1.8 60ft from a shitty 2.260ft no problem. That would shave a good bit off my et.

Does nobody on this forum have any actual times from street tires to drag slicks numbers on average what you usually gain 60ft wise

That is awsome,I know I can cut a 1.8 60ft or better on drag slicks with a stock car with 3.27 gears.
