drilling for 2nd coolent sensor

just got my intake and i guess have to put a second hole in there somewhere.. but where?? and pics or anything would help me out. i wanna get this bitch bolted on..

you drill it on the right side of the aluminum crossover, there is a flat spot...you use a 9/16 drill bit and 3/8-18 NPT tap if i remember correctly.

Then you have to be very careful and do it anywhere there is a flat spot. OR you can go down and get a T for the fitting. OR there is a freeze plug that can be pulled.

can you really use a t fitting?? i think i'll just do that..

i was questioning that because i read that using a tfitting wasn't possible for some reason, then again it doesn't make sense why not...

Well for one it would definately look stupid. And people are worried that they might not get a "true" reading with it like that, but I say at worste the sensor will think it's like 5 degrees colder, big deal.

You can put it in the thermostat housing as well.

it will work, however the problem with that is inaccurate readings. The sensors are designed to have coolant flow over them. WIth the T fitting, you get dead spots at the sensors....

ALl of the above is just what I have Read, I havent tried it nor do I have any proof... However I have heard it ALOT.

well i'll go for it.. and if i get a bad reading or whatever i'll drill my thermostat. i just don't have a driill press or anythin. i wish someone around here did.

No drill press needed. I did mine with a hand drill.

I had them drill it, then weld a bung to the top, then filled it to look nice

If I were you I would look for an intake with a aluminum cross over. Its not that big of a deal to pull the intake and put on a new 1 but I doubt its a job that most of us want to do over and over again. Those plastic intakes are pretty much certified to break. I personally really dislike the idea of the t-fitting and wouldn't do it myself but thats just me. I got 1 with an aluminum cross over and I drilled and tapped it.
