Drivers window not working

Hello everyone, this afternoon returning the job, I was unable to trace my driver's side window.
I immediately thought of the switch (button) and after the motor.

Here is my approach:

1 - I removed the switch and have reversed (because my passenger side window works), the switch is OK
2 - I removed the door trim in order to raise my glass.
3 - I removed the 3 small nuts that hold the motor and without noticing I pressed the switch driver side and I heard the engine run.

My question is: What should I change?

Pierre, you'll have to start testing the wires to see where the signal is getting lost. is the switch getting power? is the motor getting power? etc.

It sounds to me like the motor is getting power, but the plastic bushings inside the motor are in need of replacement. Open up the motor and you'll know if they need replaced. There are 3 or 4 small plastic cylinders that can get chewed up over time and cause the motor to stop.

You don't have to take the window out to remove the motor, but i'd imagine the window needs to be up.

Yerp the window needs to be up. I'd just replace the window motor, you'd be better off. Check the regulator too before you replace anything to make sure whats the issue

See these 1/4" nuts under that center piece? There are plastic bushings from the factory, get rotten and break, thus the motor turns, but the window doesn't move. Replace with 1/4" nuts and you are good to go.

My girlfriend works in a Ford Dealer, so to change everything, it will cost around 90$ . (window regulator, motor)

90 bucks for them to install a new window motor and regulator? Or for both parts? If its installed thats dirt dirt cheap, if its for both parts thats the usual price you'd pay for em

Just do the bushings, it's like $5 and an hour's work!!! Be forewarned though, if you replace the bushings with 1/4" nuts the window WILL NOT STOP if you stick something in it.

Who is worried about the window going up? I can't say I have ever seen an instance in any vehicle where I would need a failsafe for the window motor.....

Ah gotcha. Decent price for the parts. Not gonna lie its a pain in the ass replacing the window motor and I'm sure the regulator would be too.

The bushings went out on my mustang and F150. The common easy fix is to remove the junk plastic bushings and replace with 1/4" nuts. But in theory, if you have the plastic bushings installed, you could stop the moving window with your hand and strip the bushings out, thus saving the motor. If you stop the window with your hands with steel nuts in place, the motor and/or window is not going to be very happy.......

some news!

I take the motor off, quick clean, lub, and it's running. So i put it back, but now, my window is out of the rail on the right side...
