Well its about time I start one of these old car build threads.

Just got a 67 Coupe as a graduation gift. Really nice car. It has a 302 with a 4speed and the previous owner has done a lot of work on it. The only real problems it has is a messed up radiator and a leaking heater core. I got a radiator last night and I'm having it checked out today so we'll find out if its good or not. The interior has been redone, new paint, motor was worked over with a Mild Cam and Edelbrock intake and carb, new bumpers, new suspension front and rear, new exhaust, and a bunch or other little things. I'm not entirely set on what I'm going to do with this car. I'd like to throw some modern wheels on it, 17" Bullits or maybe black FR500s, depending on how they look. The dash is going to be redone a little, I hate the orange. PLanning on putting in a Hall's Restoration set of gauges (Autometer gauages behind the standard black dash) and changing all the dash trim back to the orginal black. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do besides that right now. The paint wasn't done completely wonderful and I'm not sure if they didn't spray clear on it or what, but its flat and werid looking. I kinda want to keep the orange now that I've seen it, but I'm not sure. Overall, I really like this car and can't wait to get it running good and be able to drive it every now and then, its a fun car for sure.
And no, my car won't be as spectacular as Dal's 67 or uncltrvlnmatt's 4v swap, so dont expect that from me just yet haha

UPDATE:
I've been going over many different setups and products for the car and I've started to narrow down exactly what I want to do with this car. My plans are for a fun driving car that I can drive to the show and back and then toss it around on the autocross track. So here's what I have decided on so far. Theres a lot more I want to do and a bunch of little parts I didn't mention but here are the biggies. I'll add some more as I go.

Wanted Parts List:

RideTech Levell II AirRide system
New tubular A-Arms
4-Link Rear
Airsuspension with RidePro-e3 Control System

Vintage Venom Disc/Wheel Conversion Kit
Mach1 Disc Brakes
New Hoses
Adapters

17x8 Black FR500 Wheels

Shelby Front Clip with bumper delete

Deluxe Rear Panel

LED Taillights

Fiberglass rear trunk lid

Autometer ProComp Gauges in new Black Bezels

T5 Swap

me likey! The first mustang I drove looked like yours, but Ford blue. It also had the 4 spd, and I have driven the auto equipped ones, they are kinda sluggish compared. Cant wait to see what you do with her!!1

If ya don't want to keep the orange, see what the original color was. Info is on small plate on rear face of dr's door jam. They had zillions of colors on them back then. Seems like there were about 8 shades of blue alone. My '66 Cpe. was Tahoe Turquois/black int.

It was kinda nasty from stoplight to stoplight.

Oh, when it comes time to do the heater core, go ahead and get the heater box rebuild kit. It has all the seals & such and is real cheap and easy to install. It'll make all the difference this fall when you need it.

The resto parts for that car grow on trees.

Thanks for the complients. The orginal color was wimbledon (or whatever it is) white. I MIGHT go back to that just because I have an awesome idea for paiinting it white, but I'm not sure yet. It'll be rocking that oragne for awhile. Its got some new stuff for the heater, I'm not sure what all, but it needs a heater core. I'll look into that other stuff then too.

I've never been a buig fan of saleens. BUT after talking with unctrlvmatt, they wont fit anyways. Back at looking at classic wheels and I think I found a set I like... In 17's of course haha

Oh and the radiator checked out bad. Ugh. Start looking again

paint your '95 before that car...
but planning on keeping carb or going efi?
and for the rims you should use the new bullits they use on the s197s like 19 or 18's that would look killer on an old car!
gl im very jealous of both your cars haha

I would make it look like a trans-am racer, with some mini lite rims in 17 inch of course.

Im betting those S197 rims wont fit, same reason as the SN95 rims. The 95 is def getting paint pre-67 just because the 67 looks good enough from 20 feet haha. And I'm not sure about Carb VS EFI right now. The new Pro-Flow XT EFI Conversion kit from Edelbrock looks badass and I might go with it once its available, later on down the road, but right now it runs amazing with a 650 Edelbrock Carb... so thats still in the air. If I do paint it, which its goign to need eventually, I'm planning on goinf back to white, with a flat black hood/around the hood for that old school trans-am look and POSSIBLY some oldschool sponsor name across the rear flanks. (I'm think Dog House since that was my grandfather's restaurant... not sure) If I do that, then it'll probably be a tribute to him or something and I'll get some nice bright orange pinstripes along the edge to break up the black/white and make it pop and give it that old Dog House orange/white color. For wheels, I'm tihnking about some Coy's gunmetal C-55 17x8's. They're not expensive at all, and I think would look great.

And danielr0bert- that 95 is nothhhinnggg to be jealous of.

Good luck on that. Fastbacks are def cooler but theyre hard to find good ones without throwing downs tons of $$$$. I think I got a hell of a deal on this car. $6500. Needs a radiator and heater core, but it had more new parts than I know about. I keep finding new stuff. Like today I noticed the starter was practically brand new.

That's sweet man! I like the color with the black stripe and interior.
Nice that it's in good condition. Does that have the 289 in it?
