Packs will do that with the classic look of a Mustang with tail pipes...

IMHO, Tailpipes clutter the rear view of the car. I'm a pretty "clean" guy when it comes to my cars so the less clutter the better. I'm sure its louder than having tailpipes, but I really don't know for sure because I had my H-Pipe welded shut at the same time the dumps were put on which quietened the car down A LOT, but it gave more of a "feel" to the exhaust (You can sorta feel the rumble echoing off the ground sometimes). My tailpipes were never at the same angle, and to have them straight and look nice, my mufflers hung too low and scraped stuff so I put turndowns on so I could shove my mufflers up out of the way but I love the look without it so it will stay that way forever.

If I was you, put your new mufflers on and put on dumps. If you like them, good. If not, they're only like $8 from Oreillys. Buy your tailpipes and throw them on and get rid of the dumps.

Mannn its not even THAT loud with my BBK O/R H-Pipe and Flowmasters.

I'm pretty sure my 67 thats just straight pipes to the Flowmasters and tailpipes out the rear is louder.

Not having tail pipes might lead to extra attention form the cops too. And with an o/r h that wouldn't be good. My friend just got a 110 dollar fine because his car was loud, the cop didn't see an exhaust (it's just the down pipe) and pulled him over and cited him for not having cats or a muffler. Something to keep in mind... The cop was a complete d*&* so it's probaly not likely to happen but still, no one wants a fine

Wait, he didn't have cats or mufflers?

Once again pack's with the 45's. Noback lash from exhaust going into the car, it is very quiet when I want it, but as soon as I hit the throttle hard it echo's, bust windows and ear drums alike while also giving everyone a badass sound to loose there hearing to. It's up to you.

That's what the cop told him, or it was too loud or something like that, but it's quieter then my mustang is :dontknow:It's just the downpipe off the turbo, it ends about at the firewall, he has a muffler and some piping, but i guess he just didn't get to it yet, I drove the car around like that for half a year and never had a problem. I sold it to him for the stang though

So really and truely there as not really anything turbo back? That thing had to be a screamer... I am suprised the cop would have a main reason for pulling over as "no tailpipes". Thats ridiculous. But whatever... cops do suprise me quite a bit.

yea pretty much lol, it's a small factory turbo though so it really isn't too bad. It sounds like a deisel, which personally i think is badass. Yea i would have thought so too, but he said the cop was being an a**whole, so he couldda been havin a rough day, and jumped on the chance to bust some punk kids in a loud little car :dontknow:

My car has the stock headers, no cats, stock H-pipe, IMCO racing mufflers, to my 45 degree dumps. I think it sounds great, there are many in my hick town that are louder. Mine's not the obnoxious loud that the others are.

To y'all saying no to the dumps, can you give a reason why you hate them. Sure I miss the look of my tips, just love the sound it makes! Know I'm repeating that, how much I love it!

No if he wanted.. not having cats is a lot more expensive than having $110 fine...

But on another note... Since I've went to dumps, I will never go back to having tailpipes on this mustang....Love how it looks with BIG 315's from the rear.... and I've never really liked the pipes just sticking out the back straight.
