First of all, big thanks to XXX Motorsports (850-457-DYNO) for getting me in today to attempt to break their dyno with the massive powaaaa! :p

98 GT, 5 Speed, 3.55 Gear, Nitto 245 Drag Radial, 93 Octane, 90.67 Degrees

Roush/SVO Eaton Supercharger @ 5 PSI
SVO Heads
PI Cams
FMS Shorty Headers
Mac Prochamber
Mangaflow Catback w/ no tailpipes
FMS Aluminum Driveshaft
FMS 30LB Injectors
Tuned in like 02 by Houston Performance with an Autologic Chip on 91 Octane, running 93 here

Stock maf & inlet tube w/ a K&N Cone Filter, stock tb.

292 RWHP & 308 RWTQ was the best pull it made, but the air fuel was in the low 10's for almost all of the pull, the graph is very choppy. Car could use some tuning for sure. There is probably an easy 20-30 rwhp in tuning.

Needless to say, Im disappointed, but I kind of expected it, and there is alot more to be had with tuning, bigger cai, tb, pulley, meth. The car pulls alot harder at night, so Im sure will break 300 rwhp in cooler air, but as it sits,

Im disappointed, but looking at the tune, there is obviously more to be had. Peak torque numbers arent high, but it's nice and flat, thats probably what makes the car feel peppy for what it is. Either way, weak sauce.

I also weighed the car at the landfill, where I usually weigh my cars, which gets the same numbers as a Cat Scale, the scales are plus/minus 20 LBS.

98 GT, 5 Speed, Every Option except cruise, but has aftermarket cruise, 17x8 ROH Snypers. Gas gauge was in between 1/4 & 1/2.

Weight Reduction is no dog bone on rear, or black boxes behind rear tire, no spare or jack, FMS Aluminum DS, HO Fibertrends Fiberglass Cobra R Hood. Also dont have any side skirts on the car, since I took the Roush side exhaust off, and havent gotten any stockers yet, but my cameras, and water bottles almost make that difference up lol. The Magnaflows have no tail pipes either.

Added weight is Roush Blower, Baer 13" Brakes, Recaro Sports may be heavier than stock, not sure? Clarion AutoPC has a small computer under the passenger seat. Small fire extinguisher in the trunk.

3420 with me in it, 3280 without me. Just weighed 147.xx on my shipping scale, so thats close.

ewww, I hate agree but yes, that is disappointing. Sounds like you stuck a lot of money in
that thing and not much to show for it. You can make a N/A motor top that with bolt ons,
P&P heads and cams. How do those SVO heads flow compared to stock PI heads? Even with
5psi, it seems like it should do more than 290HP.

I bought it, changed exhaust, and other odds and ends on the car. So, yea, I spent some money, but got a whole car out of the deal. :) Previous owner bought everything new and spent $$$$$$ many years ago. Im sure the car would make 260-270 n/a......but that would be tuned, the same tune would put this car off into the 320-330 range in some better weather, more than likely. Im not gonna waste $$$$ on a tune as it sits, unless I pulley it and change some other stuff, or swap to a different blower, or go n/a with nitrous. Air fuel is 10.0, and I have no idea how much timing is in it.

The SVO heads flow almost 30 cfm more on the intake, cant remember on the exhaust.

Yeah, that thing is screaming for some timing and to be a little leaner. Both are robbing power. anything lower than a 11.5 a/f ratio is just wasting fuel, it won't inhibit detonation. I would spend a few bucks and get it retuned.

So are you gonna get it tuned or what?

Numbers sound like weak sauce to me...

Is that a dynojet dyno?

should make better power i would think.add a 75 shot of nitrous.superchargers love nitrous.I guess it that cold ass shot.good luck.look into getting a tuner yourself.I bet you can make better and safe power, just take it slow.

another thing is the cam setup. I am going through the same problem with my blower cam. stock PI cams have too much lift and such low duration, with a blower you want the opposite. I would look into some blower cams. Boost is going right out of your exhaust. Trust me, I did this and am putting my Crower stage 2 blower cams in next month and my tuner told me I can expect a 40rwhp difference

What? Boost in exhaust with stock cams? No way. Stock cams have 116 lsa, meaning no overlap. I run a stock cam in my r/s car and it makes killer power with juice, more than it would with a 'nitrous' cam up to a point. Anything that shortens lsa and increases overlap will put boost or juice into the exhaust. that kills power. Your tuner may be surprised at what you get gain wise, you will probably loose down low and pick up some up top. Remember, you are forcing the air in with a blower, it doesn't take long to shove it in there. You will also proably see a reduction in the amount of boost with a larger cam. Not arguing, just throwing some different facts in the mix.

dude trust me, its the cams. I have spent the last year going through different cam setups and talking to atleast 6 speed shops. stock PI cams are good for N/A motors of just bolt on cars. But when you throw a blower on you need a cam with more duration. PI cams have less duration than NON PI cams, so you are actually going backwards. Trust me, this is coming from someone who has personally done all of this. You need blower cams. Also, make sure you degree them. thats another problem I once had

Wow. Entire top end and supercharger, and you made 290hp? Even with a tune.. 320-330? Thats even worse. HCI/supercharged 5.0 cars crack 500-600 out all day long. The longevity is another story though lol. Look into a meth kit, that things a big heat pump anyway;.

meth would make a nice improvement too, it basically acts like your running a race octane gas. you can run more boost

Well, I own a speed shop and have a loading dyno. I don't want to argue with you. Your experiences are different from mine and when I work with customers I am not trying to sell them anything they don't need. We made 370 rwhp on a stock 03 GT with stock cams, intake, larger throttle body and plenum and a full exhaust with a Procharger only pushing 10 psi of boost or so. I do have a lot of experience with this, and I agree cams would add to the hp and just fun of it, but it is not his problem. I run 9's with a stock cam in a 5.0, but everyone in our class running a 5.0 does that, so it's nothing to brag about.

oh im not trying to start an argument either, im just saying that i have been in this situation for longer than a year now and have been through atleast 4 speed shops. Look at the work I have done to my car, the tune is dead on. what else could be robbing 40rwhp? Its easily the lack of duration in the PI cams. when you go from a 202 duration in the NON PI cam to a 200 duration in the PI cam....thats what these speed shops have been telling me my problem is. Now I went with the crower stage 2 blower cams with a 230 duration and wa la, I magically pick up 40rwhp. There are no other restriction on my car besides the duration of the cam that I can think of that picked me up that much hp. where is your shop located?

Im sure he would pick up a good amount of power with some blower cams
