My e-brake cable(front half) broke and the spring has unwound. Can someone point me in the direction of how to wind it(express detailed instructions), or a site with detailed instructions/pics? Thanks for the help in advance.

RE: parking brake spring. I just replaced mine, First install the new cable $40 from ford, then bolt or clamp down the handle assembly then pull the cable rearward untill the hole on the gear lines up with the hole on the outside of the housing then install a small round punch in the hole. Now you can remove the cable leaving the punch in the hole and re install into car. Once you reattach the cable to the rear cables via the equalizer and the parking brake assembly you can remove the punch. Hope this is helpfull.

My cable just broke the other day too, the part that goes to the handle. Is ford the only place you cant get the cable i have had trouble finding one. And do i just have to hook the cable up and am all set or is there adjusting to do?

I bought mine from a local ford dealer for $39.95 + tax. When mine broke, the spring did not unwind. Although while messing with it, the spring unwound, and wasn't that hard to rewind.
