I just want to know, the base timing is supposed to be set at 10 degrees with the spout out. And I read that when you'll put the spout in, the computer will double this number so with the spout in the timing will be at 20. So, will I read 20 on the balancer? I'm a little confused.

yes set the base timing with the spout pulled. Removing the spout just prevents the computer from adjusting it. I tried looking at my timing with the spout in and it was jumping all over the place.

the computer doesn't necessarily double it.
It makes the advance what ever it needs based on air temp, water temp, engine load, and probably other stuff too.
