eBay seat brackets?

So I'm browsing seat options for my hypothetical Mustang. It's nice seeing how many options there are, I don't want to have the stockers rewrapped I just want some nice recaros.

So I'm not gonna link it because tbh Idk if that's allowed on this forum but they look really sturdy. I bought eBay brackets before and they didn't fit at all they sucked real bad actually. But these look a lot like the real Wedge brackets and are pretty cheap, like 100 bones for a pair! I would expect like $200 each!!

Thoughts? ANybody tried em?

I would avoid ebay brackets.

I haven't found a decent set of recaro or bride brackets. People usually make their own or retro fit.
Corbeau, sparco and omp have brackets that work for our cars. Mustang people seem to love corbeau and sparco.

Never tried sparco I have tried cor beau and felt like they hugged too tight and were too stiff. But since they're American (I think) I might have to give them another try. Bride seats are great I've sat in them in an s2000 but holy crap they're pricey for real authentic ones. Overall recaro seemed to be most comfy and priced well in my experience, and they come stock in many cars so you know they know what they're doing.

So those eBay brackets are trash then? It's weird they look exactly like wedge brackets. I can adapt a seat to a bracket it doesn't have to be made specifically for that seat, I just want the initial lower part to bolt to the chassis. Everything else on top of that is simple

I agree do not cheap out on the seat and especially not the bracket. I got corbeaus used from a former member here and the brackets with them and I was surprised how much beefier they were then the stock brackets. If either the seat or the bracket fail though you are in serious trouble....

Yeah definitely not gonna skimp out on the seats, I want to go with recaros but you guys are recommending corbeau so I'll have to look into those. Just wasn't sure how the brackets were, the china brackets tend to copy the legit ones so you never know really. Looks like they have Planted brackets for 140 a piece on there which isn't too bad.

Oh also did you guys have problems with seat height after putting in aftermarket brackets and seats? My car is currently super tight I'm hoping the Mustang will have more room.

no issues with the corbeau's but I am not dunking either. Yes the knock offs are often of known good models but it also doesn't take much like a thinner steel or crappy welds to save money to make them unsafe, or just not fit right if they are only slightly off and don't care about quality. Do it right, do it once and get a good name. I am not saying you have to have corbeaus as there are a number of good names but also be aware they are knocking everything off now so don't look for too good of a deal on a big name.

That's true, I am about 6'0" and normally have to lean back the seat and slide my feet as far to the bottom as possible and that SUCKS!! I'm not dunking either lol, I remember seeing one guy in a 370z who looked like the roof was caving in on him. Having no head is horrible imo. I'm looking on the wedge engineering site and their brackets are about 90 bones each without sliders
