For those of us that don't make enough money to be exempt from the economic stimulus checks coming soon, what are your plans??

Thankfully, I'm still under the limit, so to me it just means a $600 payment on my student loan.

I'm putting it in savings, because i vowed to myself that i will not buy anymore parts for my car until 2009. I hae spent way too much money on my car in the 9 months i have owned it.

In my savings account, eventually I'll pull it out and spend it I guess, but I'm pretty good at saving nowadays. Plus my house is paid for, and all electric, so my bills are low.

ur 27 and ur house is paid for? what is it a box? most take like 30 years or some shit don't they?

really, consider your self a very lucky or very smart person to have no house payment. damn I would be so damn rich if I didnt have to put 1150 a month on the house.

Ditto, $1145 here. But, it's rent. Housing is too expensive to buy around where I live so I'm staying where I'm at until my soon-to-be wife gets her doctorate and finally starts making more money than I do.

Tax foreclosure, bought from the city for 18k, had holes kicked in the walls, water damage, etc. Did all the repairs with the help of my friends.

They're everywhere if you looks at have independent financing or cash up front. I got mine with a loan from the VA, but they are cheaper houses around, especially with all the foreclosures taking place, I'm thinking of buying another one.

I'm really surprised that the VA even approved your loan with it in that condition. My dealings with them have led me to believe that the house has to be livable and able to move in. I looked at a fixer-upper and they said they wouldn't approve it even though I was qualified.
