does anybody have this intake installed on the 5.0L? what heads and cam did you use to go with this combo, it says on the edelbrock site you need the tb adapter and another adapter kit? do i really need both, im going to be running the stock bottom end so im not going to change the pistons or anything so the x303 and z 303 the they recommend wont work, i was probably just going to get a custom ground cam, a 70mm tb, im getting a different hood so clearance shouldn't be a issue. i was thinking either edelbrock heads or afr's what numbers could i expect to get with this set up? thanks

I have it and its a great intake. Yes you need the elbow adapter if you are going to run the sn95 intake setup. I'm using Trickflow stage 1 ported heads form panhandle performance and an e303(i know i know not optimum). I also run the fox valve covers.

i have the intake, its great, you need the tb adapter, i have summit valve covers and didnt need a spacer for the egr to not hit the covers, custom grind would be the best way to go, and if its only between edelbrock and afr heads, they are both great heads but id choose afr 185's, they'll give you more potential for further motor upgrades or if you decide to do a power adder

how much hp are you putting to the wheels? is there a big difference between the performer and the performer 2?

Anything with a 2.02/1.60 valve is usually going to need a flycut if using an aftermarket cam.

The twisted wedge head has more room to play because of the valve design.

ok cuz i dont want to flycut my pistons so which cam should be safe with those heads? i guess a e303 will work, or i could prob find a comp cams one that would work

You can always go with a AFR 165 head. The difference between the 165 to the 185 is the intake port and the valve size. The exhaust is identical.

The 165 will work fine without flycutting.

Depending on if your willing to spend it but Ed Curtis is an excellent person to design a cam for what you want but his cams are pricey at $299.99

He can design something to get you the most performance without cutting the piston.

270, but I am hoping for a little more once I get my 24lb injectors, he did a safe tune as I was at 91% or 92% duty cycle on the 19's so he told me get the 24's and he can fatten it up a little and see if I cant get a little more power

270's pretty good though.. think you could push 300 with your combo? also could you use a more aggressive cam other then the E or will the pistons start making out with the valves?
