EDIT: I'M STUPID

Just finished putting on heads and diagnosing alll of my problems which turned out just to be the tfi ground. Well now on start up, i'll have to crank it over about 4 times before it fires. Then once it starts to fire, it revs to like 1000 and then dies out, doesnt matter if i'm touching the gas or not. after doing that about 5 times, she'll start up but have a horrrible surge between 1000k and around 1900-2200. It does this for about two minutes, then idles normal up to running temp and its completely find. Could this still be my computer "learning" my mods or would cheaking my tps voltage and resetting base idle help this?

no, i just put the heads on. all the mods just go along with a hci swap. I've got a cam in it but i'm not sure which one. Before I get it tuned I have an n412 that is going to go in it.

you should still be able to get it to idle even if its high. check your timing, tps, make sure everything is plug in no vac leaks and do base idle reset. is the iac adjustable on your tb. some have a screw on the actual tb that helps adjust it.

Wait so why bother putting it back together if your just going to tear it apart to put another cam in?

Agreed with RZ you should still be able to get it to idle.

Well its already back together. It was at my buddy's house before winter hit because I didnt plan on putting heads on taking 4 months to finish. It's back at my house at college where I don't have tools to do it. I need the car completely driveable so when I get the break in school, I can drive it to my house to put the cam in.

I did not but it has been removed the entirety of me owning the car. as far as i know everthing has been blocked off. the egr pump is sitll on the car but nothing is hooked up.

is the egr valve on back ur intake hooked up?
more impotant is it sealed to yhe header good it sounds like a bad vacume leak

The egr port on my header is blocked off with a bolt. What egr valve on the back of my intake? do you mean the ports on the underside of the upper intake?

Edit: egr ports on my intake elbow have been blocked out. Never had an issue like this before the head swap. All that was changed was the new heads.

Do vacuum leaks go away as the car warms up? I though if u had a. Vacuum leak it was all the time

once the o2 sensors warm up the computer tries to conpensate. its posible you have a vac leak.

I just tried cchecking everywhere i could for a vacuum leak as far as gaskets go, upper to lower, lower to heads, pcv valve, throttle body. Only thing I noticed that was weird is once it started idling, i noticed the iac wasnt plugged in? so I plugged it back it but it wouldnt start again (fried battery). i just uploaded a video of what happens when i start it.

any blurping of throttle or holding of throttle is done by me.

Sounds like the MAF. Take it off and see what happens. That or FPR.

Wouldld a vacuum leak seal itself after the car warms up? Idk if I made it clear but once it warms up it idles fine. Would you think just pulling. The manifold off and resetting everything would cure it?

EDIT: I have downs. Picked up a new battery and looked at my engine bay today. Fucking IAC wasn't plugged in. A derrr. Started right up. I have shit for brains. I hate myself. Time for cam install =]
